Learn the technique of printing with intaglio ink using recycled tetrapak cartons.
In this festive workshop you will use example images to create your own unique design to adorn a set of five beautiful Christmas cards. If you have an idea in mind, please bring along any images which will inspire you (and others). You will also produce a smaller design (or several if you’re a fast worker!) to be printed on a set of gift tags to make all your presents look extra special.
The intaglio ink you will be using is a bit sticky so please bring an apron if you don’t want to get messy. I will provide wipes for your hands, and there is a sink for hand washing at the end.
- Learn how to transfer designs onto the tetrapak ready for printing.
- See how to apply the correct amount of ink and how to press it through the rolling press to realise your final products.
- Learn about design composition and how to create an effective image.
